Maureen Ratchford, DPM has been serving people and their feet for many years. As an active podiatrist, she cares about your whole health and how your feet play a part in that. As an involved member of the Ebensburg community, you’re more than a name and a pair of feet to her—you are a neighbor.
Maureen Ratchford, DPM discovered her love for podiatry during her undergraduate program at Duquesne University. Several friends who were already in podiatry school shared their enthusiasm for the field, and shadowing a local podiatrist confirmed her desire to pursue this vocation. After completing her bachelor degree, she went on to earn her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree (DPM) from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine.
She completed her residency and certification in both general foot care and foot and ankle surgery through the University Hospitals Health System/Richmond Heights Hospital. This allows her to treat patients using conservative methods as well as forefoot, rearfoot, reconstructive, and diabetic limb salvage surgeries. This way she is able to help her patients through every step of the healing process. Once a week, she also sets aside time to assist in diabetic limb care at the Wound Healing Center at Memorial Medical Center Lee Campus and the wound care clinic at Somerset Hospital.
Affiliations and Certifications

To provide her patients with the very best care, she continues to pursue further education to stay at the top of the field and maintains memberships with several organizations. Some of these prominent, professional organizations include the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association, and American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS).
Life Outside the Office
Maureen Ratchford, DPM is an active part of the Ebensburg community at large, outside of the Premier Podiatry Group office. Originally from this area, she is proud of the community and shares its strong, hard-working ethic. She is also an avid sports lover and enjoys both watching others play as well as participating herself. Maureen can at times be found at the local Veteran outpatient facilities in Johnstown and Altoona — she’s had a presence at both facilities since 2005.
She runs regularly and enjoys training with the Ebensburg Area Running Club. When she’s not running, she finds other ways to stay active, like swimming, spending time outdoors and coaches/sponsors a local youth basketball team.. She also enjoys sitting down with a good book to read. More often than not, though, you can find her spending time with her two children.
Maureen Ratchford, DPM truly cares about the people from Ebensburg and surrounding communities, such as Northern Cambia, Patton, Portage, and even Johnstown. It’s her goal to provide you with the best service possible to help you and your family stay healthy, independent, and mobile.
